This luxury private home boasts a wonderful and very complete John's Electronic installation. Besides light, temperature and access control, one will find home theatre, curtains and sun shades, swimming pool, door phone integration, etc.
Upon entering the living room the beautiful minimalist design immediately captures the eye. The John's Electronic user interfaces blend perfectly into the interior – being both strategically and discretely positioned. In this family house the added value of home automation lays mainly in heightened comfort.
In most rooms an OCTO touch panel offers control over light, temperature and curtains. The SERVUS in the kitchen also controls the sprinklers in the garden, the sun blinds above the patio and the RGB lights in the adjacent living room. There is multi room audio, with speakers in the garden. A couple of local moods can change the ambiance of the living room in just a matter of seconds. The integration with video door phone add to the security level. |

Master decorator Pieter Porter is renowned for his sumptuous, full, anglo-french baroc style. The House of Porters is an Antwerp mansion that holds a show room, a flower workshop, a lounge and three lavish hotel suites. Every suite is designed so as to submerge the guests in an ambiance of complete indulgence whilst making them feel completely at home. Each of the suites has its own style: French, English, and Oriental.
Every suite has its John's Electronic home automation installation which controls lights and temperature. A push on the designated button will call room service to take the guests’ orders. In the suites you will find the LATUS touch windows. A SERVUS at the reception controls the entire building (including the show room). It has access control and a security camera integrated. |

Objective | to create a productive and positive atmosphere in a high-tech company building, by optimizing light, temperature, access control, multi-media presentations, building management and safety.
Description | The John's Electronic offices and laboratories are located in a 1960's factory building. Upon purchase in 2004, the John's Electronic management decided to completely refurbish the edifice. The cachet of the old building has been combined with high tech domotics and full integrated automation. The final result is open and pleasant workspaces, an impressive showroom, comfortable training and seminar rooms, etc. Also a lot of attention was spent to the energy management.
The John's Electronic offices proffer perfect working conditions by integrating light control, heating/cooling/ventilation control and access control. The sunshades in offices, rooms and laboratories are managed by the system, as are the motorised windows in the show room and meeting rooms. The high level of integration is at every one’s disposal. Every room is equipped with a LATUS and every employee has his own GUI on his PC. The environmental settings are only one click away on everybody's PC screen. On top of that, the company management has total control over the building by means of a prestigious desk mounted SERVUS unit. It offers the building manager an overview of all lights, temperatures, gates, doors, shades, wall sockets, garden sprinklers, etc... Including camera view to the outdoor surroundings and some of the indoor areas as well.
When entering the building, the level of the proximity card of the entering person defines what functions are activated. If management level, the access to the building is given and all basic functions are activated. When an employee enters the building, he is given access only when the management is already there. At the same time the temperature settings of his desk and energy to his desk is given with the access. Upon leaving the company all necessary energy is disconnected, temperature settings are changed, the electrified shades are retracted, the electrified windows are automatically closed, copy machines and printer as disconnected from the mains, etc... and the security system is armed. Simple, secure and energy friendly.
Money counts: When a visitor is expected, a button 'visitors' is clicked and all necessary settings are done: lights, temperature, windows and shades are set, only when necessary. The building avoids spending 16MWatt of extra electricity per year, due the use of the integrated John's Electronic system. Today in Belgium this means lowering the cost around Euro 24000 over a period of 10 years+ comparable amount for heating and cooling. This is more then the extra investment done for the system. The system should last for 20 years or more.
